The Open Course comprises a front nine set around an impressive lake and waterways complex that not only offers a golfing challenge, but is also host to a considerable amount of wildlife. The back nine offers a challenge with mature trees strategically placed to make it a true parkland course.
The Masters course was extended in 1997 from a 9-hole course, with a new nine designed by Peter Alliss. The front nine has recently undergone some major renovation and remodelling, and combines hedgerows and undulating fairways with large greens and water features.
We have recently undertaken significant remodelling work to five holes on the Masters course that has significantly improved both the design and aesthetics of this course, and several new tees have been added to both courses.
The 16th hole on the Masters Course is perhaps Cotgrave’s signature hole, a 136 yard par 3 over water to a wide but shallow green, with an approach that rolls back to the water. The substantial lake in this area of the course is sensitively managed to enhance both aquatic and bird life, and is also the home of the 11th tee, which is on a peninsula in the middle of the lake. |
